June 18th Pet Parade Review

June 18th saw our annual pet parade, live dance from Sleepy Hollow Performing Arts Center, music from Four Piece Racket and an impressive offering of vendors and specials and late night openings from our stores and restaurants.

It was a wonderful night in Tarrytown.
The weather was glorious and the streets were teeming with people and their fury companions, including a few brave cats and even a guinea pig.  There was fun to be had outside TF Andrew as everyone waited for the parade to begin.  Tarrytown's own Bark & Meow sponsored a host of games, like 'hot dog bobbing' and 'musical newspapers' all being hotly contested, and eagerly watched by the assembled crowds.

The parade made its way down Main Street to South Washington, where all participants received a ribbon and more games were held, again with the kind sponsorship of Bark & Meow. The winners and categories were as follows:
Best Dressed - Abigail
Smiliest Face - Louis
Best Vintage Pet (Age 10+) - Petey
Smallest Pet - Fudge, guinea pig
Waggiest Tail - Bella and Duke (tie)
Largest Pet - Tocky
Most Exotic - Buster
Looks Most Like Owner - Rocky, cat
Best Trick - Benny and Brunella (tie)
Cutest Pet - Remington, Cocoa and Harley (tie)

This month's Spend $10 win $25 was won by Tania, from Tarrytown - Congratulations!  Tania wins a gift certificate worth $25 to be spent at any participating Third Friday merchant or vendor.  Don't forget to enter next month by dropping your receipt for $10 or more, from any participating merchant, into the box in Nu Toy.

Join us next month for "Staycation" and a sampling of the many local events and attractions to delight and entertain anyone vacationing at home this summer.  We'll have the Peter Spink band and a black top beach party live on South Washington Street.
We'll see you on July 16th!

June 18 - Pet Parade

Wet your nose and shine your scales, Tarrytown Third Friday's Annual Pet Parade is nearly here!

All pets are welcome to join our parade down Broadway and Main Street ending on South Washington Street.  The schedule is:

Eyebuzz Fine Art - An eclectic mix of work from contemporary American artists, predominately paintings and mixed media.

Tappan Z Gallery - Danielle Hatherley.  Don't be fooled by Danielle's outback, Australian accent -- she's a New Yorker now and loves the vibrant Manhattan local in which she lives.  Also, don't be fooled by the abstract qualities of her recent work -- she is most inspired by her natural surroundings, training her talents to explore the relationship between dark and light and the shades of contrast created when they come together in natural settings.  See Hatherley's newest "naturalist" work and meet the artist at our Summer reception: 5-10pm.

KIDS & FAMILY
Warner Library Young Artists Exhibit - 5 - 7pm Front lawn, Warner LIbrary, 121, N. Bway

April 16

April 16 saw the return of Tarrytown Third Friday.  We saw a few drops of rain but, spirits remained high and a lot of fun was had.

Many thanks to Anthony Da Costa for a great performance that filled South Washington and Main Streets.  Jilly Puppets instantly conjured up a crowd eager to run, jump, and giggle.  Linus and the gang at Whimsies invited in the kids for craft fun.  Bill Klein's caricatures brought smiles to many faces.

Thanks to Tarrytown Music Hall for technical assistance and the offered rain location.

Check out the video below for a few highlights and a great tune by Anthony.
