Tappan Z Gallery presents artist Amy Crawley sculpting demonstration Friday, Nov. 20; 5-10 pm.
Amy A. Crawley, an award winning and published mixed media artist from Massachusetts is providing a demonstration on sculpting heads, creating armatures, and body structures for her Spirit Messengers and Icons as part of Tarrytown’s Third Friday art gallery events. Amy will create figures from polymer clay and demonstrate how to use an extruder to create Klimt-like patterns. Amy will also discuss various artistic uses of polymer clay and her creative process. Amy’s work has been described by collectors as “calming,” “healing,” and “…serene…with laughter.” She draws inspiration from nature, the spirit of ancient cultures, and her travels around the world.

Celebrate Earth Day - April 17th

Come out and celebrate Earth Day. After a long cold winter, Third Friday will be back on the streets. We'll have the kids, craft and music from "The Other Guys" down on South Washington and A Nu Toy Store will have a free puppet show at 5.30pm.
Following the horticultural theme set by last month's sunflower give away Santa Fe Restaurant are looking 're-home' some of their abandoned avocado pits and will be offering them up for 'adoption'. For a minumum donation of $1, you will receive a kit containing all you need to grow your own avocado, an adoption certificate and voucher for Santa Fe Restaurant. All proceeds will be given to the Elizabeth Mascia Childcare Center.
Y-Dance and Evolve will have an open social dance class and an aerial silk demonstration and if you've ever been tempted to run away and join the circus you can have a go aerial silks for yourselves and see if you'd cut the mustard!

We'll be giving out Sunflower Seeds at Lollipop (you can buy the edible kind coated in chocolate) and Santa Fe (with your check) and other participating merchants, as part of the The Great Sunflower Project. You'll receive instructions with our seeds telling you how to go online and become part of a national effort to monitor the bee population.
