November's Event Review

So it was a little 'nippy' fortunately there were plenty of excuses to duck into one of the many great stores in town to warm up. Lubins and Links opened in the old Pretty Funny space and did a roaring trade in hot dogs and lubins (apparently a type of shaved meat sandwich) each with their own signature topping - delicious!
Nu Toys threw an opening party and received a very enthusiastic reception from the youth set and their parents. All toys at Nu are on sale for less than retail (even lower than K-Mart) and include a great selection of Fisher Price, Melissa and Doug and Playmobil. They also carry a good selection of used toys (and I believe these are largely unopened) at great prices.
Riverview Wines held a wine tasting and showed off their new interior - they have expanded sales floor, added new lighting and greatly increased their stock of very reasonably priced wines.
Premier Performing Arts braved the cold to hand out information about their upcoming production of Forever Plaid, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society were also out and about - you can find out about their team in training program at www.teamintraining.org, if you new year's resolution is to get fit this is great way to make sure you get that done!
Tarrytown Nursery held a wonderful open house with pizza, brownies and lots of very tiny people running around having a good time - they have a registration day coming up in Jan so contact them if you are interested in a place for next year. Y-Dance shook their tail feathers in the YMCA gym with plenty of world rhythm to keep you warm.

Thanks to everyone who donated to the food drive - all donations were delivered to Westchester Food Bank who will put them to good use. The Rotary will be continuing to collect food donations at December's event.

There's a full schedule of holiday events coming up in town. There's a green giving fair at the library this weekend (Nov 29 12 noon -3pm). The tree lighting in Patriot's Park is on December 6th at 5pm, followed by the Library's Holiday Party and I think Frosty and Rudolph will be putting in an appearance for pictures at December's Third Friday (19th).

Enjoy the holidays, enjoy your families and enjoy our town and all it has to offer.
